This is an invitation to you to attend this coming Sunday’s third concert in this year’s Music on the Mountain concert series.  On July 9 at 4:00 pm, we’ll be presenting the Dixieland Dreamers, a jazz ensemble led by Steve Bleifuss, who has been a trombone soloist with several major orchestras, including the Glenn Miller Orchestra, the Tommy and Jimmy Dorsey Orchestras, the Cab Calloway and Tex Beneke bands, and others.  He has also accompanied such stars as Aretha Franklin, Barry Manilow, Warne Newton, Bette Midler, the Manhattan Transfer, and several others.

The Church of St. John’s in the Wilderness was founded in 1880 and has a long history of community projects, and this concert series is conceived as another service to our community.  The concerts are free of charge, but voluntary donations are appreciated in order to help defray the costs of these excellent performances.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

The church is a beautiful stone building in a tranquil setting that you will enjoy.  Directions to the church are as follows:  Palisades Parkway to Exit 14, turn west onto Willow Grove Road and continue 3 ½ miles to St. John’s Road, where there is a large sign directing you to turn left and proceed another ½ mile to the church.  We hope to see you there!
